European Commission has published the first work programme and calls for the health, demographic change and wellbeing challenge societal challenge of Horizon 2020 for 2014/15 a few days ago. Horizon 2020 is the EU Research and Innovation programme with nearly €80 billion of funding available (€7 billion for Health) over 7 years (2014 to 2020).
- The societal challenge ‘Health, demographic change and wellbeing’, will involve two calls in 2014 and 2015, with a budget of €549 million in the first year. The first deadline for health (PHC) is on March 11 2014, average project size: 4-6 million. The deadline for point-of-care diagnostics (ICT) is on April 23 2014, average project size: 2-4 million.
